Postdoctoral researcher sought for study of human adaptation to climate change in fire-prone temperate forest ecosystems. The goal of the study is to improve understanding of and methods for projecting socio-ecological interactions in the context of climate change. The postdoctoral researcher will design and administer a social data collection instrument that incorporates climate scenarios, and develop conceptual and simple quantitative models of human adaptation.

Start date: Flexible (ideally by May 1, 2016)
Term: 1 year, 1.00 FTE
Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan
Salary: $45,000 (benefits eligible)

The candidate for the assistantship should be an interdisciplinary researcher with a PhD in human geography, complex systems, natural resources, environmental science, social psychology, sociology or a similar field. The ideal candidate should have:
• Expertise in social science research
• Experience with quantitative social and/or ecological modeling
• Familiarity with climate data and climate projections
